Jovan Goodman is a certified advanced practice social worker and has been working in the social services field for several years in various roles from direct service, management, and macro practice in child welfare. Jovan has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside and studied abroad as an undergraduate at Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
She received her MSW degree with a concentration in child welfare from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
As a graduate student, Jovan enjoyed partnering with service delivery systems to develop and facilitate evidence-based programming for children and families impacted by trauma in her community. The inspiration for the Confidence Continuum programming and curriculum was then developed as Jovan wanted to create meaningful prevention programming for younger children.
"The Confidence Continuum" is a book and program designed for girls including structured and detailed instruction for meaningful discussion, art activities, and visual confidence walks while in community with other girls. The concept of confidence is best presented and understood as a continuum or journey rather than a destination. The activities within the book build awareness and enhance self-confidence while in community with other girls. "The Confidence Continuum" has made an impact in over 90 counties across the U.S. and most recently, in Uganda!
Jovan's mission is to empower and reach a billion girls worldwide!
